Can I activate an AncestryDNA kit for someone else?
Kits can be activated before or after a sample is mailed. Each adult who takes the test needs their own account. Except for with minor children, only one DNA kit can be activated per account. You can also invite someone else to activate their kit or activate your child’s kit.
Can I activate someone else’s AncestryDNA?
The owner must activate their kit on their own account. The only exceptions are minor children and incapacitated adults for whom someone else holds power of attorney.2021-02-24

What happens if I pause my Ancestry subscription?
While your membership is paused, you’ll be able to sign in to your Ancestry account and view your tree, but you won’t be able to view most records, including records you’ve attached to your tree. Your membership will automatically reactivate when your pause ends.2021-06-09

Family trees Unless you delete them, any trees you’ve created in your account will remain on the site whether or not you have a membership. Can I link my AncestryDNA to another account?

Is FamilySearch org better than Ancestry?
The quality of the search results is largely due to the algorithm each company uses and the language and coding used to produce that algorithm. The more I research my non-European ancestors and relations, the more I find that Familysearch.org produces far more accurate and better results.2014-01-07
What do I do when I receive my AncestryDNA kit?
Results ready: When your DNA testing is complete, we’ll post the results on your DNA homepage, the same page where your kit status has been displayed.
