Do wood pellets have additives?
Wood pellets are 100% natural, with no binders, chemicals, or additives. Most wood pellets made in the USA are manufactured from clean sawdust and wood chips: waste products from lumber and other wood industries that would wind up rotting in landfills, if not used for heating fuel.
What causes Traeger to explode?
If there are leftover wood pellets in your grill the next time you start it, the firepot will be fed too many more wood pellets. Too much fuel always triggers an explosion.2020-12-01

Why does my Traeger caught on fire?
Pellet Fire Pellet fires are caused by a large buildup of pellets in the firepot. If there is no fire in the firepot, the pellets will continue to feed and may eventually overflow. A pellet fire occurs when all these pellets in and around the firepot ignite.
How are wood pellets flavored?
The process for making industrial wood pellets and flavored wood pellets for smoking food is the same. But the best pellet makers are more selective in the types of wood they use. For example, flavored wood pellets will often source trees from local apple orchards and blend it with oak or hickory.

How do you use hickory pellets?
Once your coals are totally covered in white ash and to a hot, even temperature, add your wood pellets to the coals. You want to use enough of the pellets to create a thin layer over your charcoal. As soon as the pellets ignite and start smoking, you are ready to start cooking your meat.
